AI's GENERATIONAL switchup

AI's GENERATIONAL switchup
ill explain this later below

The last few weeks on the internet have literally been a fever dream. INSANITY. i NEVER expected the 'AI' comeback, the same corporations that shoved it up our ass are now being violated themselves. Starting with Adobe, one of the few software companies even worse than sony, they've been PRINTING money by getting designers hooked to their apps and charging EXTORTIONATE subscription rates. I hate paid software, but I hate subscriptions wayyy more, and I ESPECIALLY hate locking it to a spyware buggy vibecoded os. Skip to a few weeks ago, where something, no idea what, snapped. All of a sudden, MULTIPLE AI clones, reverse engineered/cleanroom-assembled of the ENTIRE adobe suit appear. No warning, no nothing. I do attribute it to the recent releases and GENERATIONAL spec bumps of the new ChatGoyPT astra and Claude Opus 5.5 models, but why it happened that specific day we'll probably never know. Point is, the Artcraft Suite, the most prominent clones, released aswell, marking FULL open-source, multiplatform reimplementations of the adobe apps with the same UI and being close to feature parity. I gave Photocraft (the Photoshop clone, duh) a try, and I'm by NO means an expert, but for 2 day old ALPHA software these results were simply astounding. I genuinely mean it when I say that I probably could not tell them apart, thats how great Photocraft is. Of course, it was still buggy as hell, but as an amateur I achieved what I wanted to in no-time, having paid nothing, cracked nothing, and DONE IT ON LINUX. I also tried Videocraft (Premiere clone), and had similar results, but i will say that it didn't feel exactly like it's counterpart and definitely felt more vibecoded, and from what I understand, I'm definitely not alone with this opinion.

Again, call it what you will, but for alpha software, it's unbelievable, and generally just something I never expected to see. But this does bring up this conversation of AI reverse-engineering, with ALL of the advancements and achievements its made in the past few weeks. I remember it started with those funny AI game mashups, where it would either reverse engineer both games and literally 'mash' them together, or for games to complex to just reverse-engineer even for AI, it would overlay certain elements from each games and stream one's hitboxes to another. In both cases, it made for a fun time on reels for a week or two, but it was just a taster. A Warning. In the span of a week. we jumped from goofing around to open-sourcing absolutely everything. I mentioned the amazing ArtCraft suite, but there is MS Office clones too. Full game open-source recomps up to Wii games and even better. NATIVE BLOODBORNE AND GOW3 PC PORTS. They ported the entirety of the PS5 GPU to PC, and the rest of the console is translated too... We might literally have the entire PS5 running on PC before GTA6, and trust me, Sony is shitting themselves right now (project is called AnyPS5, but KytyPS5 is also playing an inportant roll).

A program called Reverse Engineer Everything is at the forefront, taking ai input and using it to... reverse-engineer anything. The important distinction is that with reverse-engineering, you'll get code that exactly replicates the original program, but unfortunately, in some jurisdictions this does infringe on copyright laws (fuck those anyway). But not all of these projects are doomed, because if you remember, AnyCraft is not exactly as capable as some adobe ass, and that's caused by the approach they take, called 'clean-room reimplementation', where an AI essentially gets the original app as input, and is asked to create something as similar as possible using it's OWN code (no copyright infringed). Meanwhile, recompiled games usually require you to provide the game yourself to get some of the original code and assets, thus they do not infringe upon any copyright as of publishing. Some projects still do of course, and trust me there is NO shortage of copyright infringement right now, in fact, I'd argue we are entering the second golden age of piracy, even BIGGER and BETTER than in the 2010s, and this entire movement is lead by our beloved Sony, who loves digital 'ownership' so much, they dont even own their console or games themselves anymore. Their locked-down hardware is being 'digitalized' on the one side by AnyPS5, and unlocked on the other, with the Relapse exploit affecting ALL but the most recently updated PS5s, and the Byepervisor exploit (which literally released yesterday) granting full Hypervisor access, allowing for .fpkg support (reduces used storage and brings loading times, performance and stability parity to real ps5 games). No one really cares though, because the real development here is that almost EVERY PS5 out there INCLUDING every new ps5 on store shelves as of right now being able to run linux with correct drivers, high-performance and the ability to play online. You don't even lose anything, as you can simply dual-boot between the PS5 OS (Codename: Prospero) and Linux (lots of distros supported) on a whim, literlaly by the press of a button. And you remember how I mentioned Piracy (guide coming soon)? Multiple, MANY freeshops opened up on PS5, all carrying huge libraries covering almost every PS5 game downloading natively to the ps5, with fast speeds and a gorgeous UI. Examples include Overdrive, Orbis, BlackBox, Spectrum Library, Pegasus-DL and so many more, to the point where (similarly to the THRIVING homebrew scene) arrive almost daily. It's such a good time to be in the scene right now, and every day I wake up wondering what new homebrew released today.

Some of my personal Highlights:

  • Homebrew.page and ProsperoStore, amazing, feature rich and beautiful homebrew store, should contain all the other apps I talked about
  • RPCS3-PS5, a ps3 emulator ON ps5 (sony has spend 6 years telling us it's impossible), even supports discs
  • RomM, connects to your server to download roms and sync files
  • Stremio Plus & Nuvio Max'd, amazing fast clients for stremio with torrent support and a nice native-like UI
  • Orbit Store, great freeshop with Torbox compatibility and fast downloads
  • Game Compressor, updates AMPR Emulator and compresses/decompresses game formats (i PRAY that we get fpkgs on higer firmwares so this isnt necessary anymore, still great app and from a palestinian dev)
  • Entire damn backwards compatibility with any PS1-PS3 disk as if IT WERE NATIVE, literally black magic

I wanna use this to also throw out MY personal wishlist of apps to be reverse-engineered and companies to be fucked. We have office and adobe now, but how about discord alternatives?? They've BEEN fucking with their users, most recently re-adding AI age verification after their last try literally got people's faces and ID's leaked, then acted all cute and 'ohh look at me im such a hip youngster company teehee :3' after fucking it up AGAIN (this caused the entire artist community to lock in drawing gore of wumpus btw). I looked into some today, seemed promising, but competition is always good. Youtube anyone??? It's not THAT shitty yet (we'll see if the whole 'adding gifs to the only somewhat clean comment section left on the internet' thing will change that), but again, they ARE owned by Google after all. Finally, and this one is most realistic because it doesn't need stupidly high server cost: FL-Studio, like bro thats enough catching viruses tryna crack it (im mad from experience...), and in that vein similar apps too, like Vocaloid, Synth V, all that good stuff.

(just some of my favourites:)

Point is, development is rapid, companies are PISSED and SCARED SHITLESS (sony literally paid 50K for a bounty when they usually hand over 20K MAXIMUM and enforces 14.10 now), features are being added and games and apps made free. The Companies championed AI, now they get it shoved up their assesssss. For hobbyists, this is stupidly exciting and empowering, and we can see a clear change in perception for the use of AI in programming, with more and more devs and even some companies openly adapting it, and people happily using AI-assisted projects in order to 'take revenge' on companies and enjoy software for cheaper and better than ever before. Now, unfortunately, we also have to think about some real world implications and repercussions; I see this from two sides: 1. Impact on Job Environments and society as a whole, and 2. If it's threat to many companies and digital security could finally enforce government lockdowns on high end AI.

  1. As you can guess, this type of AI already HAS had its impact on any software engineering job, from UI Designer to Developer (App OR Game) to Cybersecurity and beyond. Many of my Software-Engineer-Friends are very stressed by the situation, as this already changed the course of their carreer massively and is honestly on track to replace them outright, only leaving space for human 'vision' and 'direction', and at this point, who knows how long those will last either. But it isn't just programming and software, these AI developments will literally expand into all fields, from Politics and WAR (as is already the case with the US governments forced adaptation of Claude as what is basically a commander, and the Israeli killer machines targeting children and vulnerable people during the ongoing genocide) to science and medicine, and while I personally don't think it will literally replace EVERY single person and job, I do think that if left free like this, it will seriously endanger the economy and job market FAR BEYOND its already dangerously streched capacity in current times. Keep in mind, not long ago I really didn't believe it was more than a 'tech trend' and that it had no danger to anything, so things might get even worse. This brings us to:
  2. Government regulation; usually something I am STRICTLY against, in the same vein as paid information and closed source, yet in the case of a development as unexpectedly fast as this, maybe defendable. The reality is that, had AI not backfired on all the monopolies supporting it, governments would NOT have fought back, probably even adapted the technology themselves. However, due to the reality of all democracies being basically fake and lobbies (be that of external parasitic governments OR companies) controlling them, I strongly believe we will see mass-adopted hardcore regulation spearheaded by the US government and quickly followed up by from its puppet states, FORBIDDING the release of newer high-end models from the likes of OpenAI and Claude, even potentially trying to limit local models and use and also banning chinese/foreign AI entirely. This would neither be 'unrealistic' compared to the overreaches that these governments have pulled before, nor would it be impossible to (somewhat) enforce, either, and, aside from enforcing these shady companies's copyrights and demands, it would slow down the decay of society and the economy at the hands of AI; but we must not forget who is responsible for all of this to begin with, and that the US government and followers are not acting in our best interests. Keep yourself independently informed, ABSOLUTELY ignore mass media on this, and use and rebel at your own caution.
ngl for that typa money i would sell yall out too (still doesn't change that he's the reason many talented devs left, thats a story for another day tho)

This went kinda deep, lets- for a change- do something cheery, like WELCOME THE NEW CO-WRITERS YEAHHHHHHHHHHH

  • Musty (JeffreyEpstein) (don't judge, I'm looking into how to change names lmao), he'll be making the hyperspecific schizophrenic posts, and DEFINITELY mention either Bocchi, Ultrakill, or Blender in any post he can get his filthy little grubs on
  • Loxdude (Hanspeterlol), a dear friend of mine and a very skilled cybersec student. He'll probably be less autistic than me (except for when it comes to LLMs), so check his stuff out for a change, and definitely try his new transcription app, he's very proud of it and so am I. Also had a now archived youtube channel 😗
  • Main Character, literally some random I met on the streets and he BEGGED to be a cowriter so from the goodness of my heart i allowed it (also a dear friend of mine and probably one of my oldest that I still talk to, also highly skilled and DEFINITELY has the wrong major lmao), look forward to his first post (maybe)

literally them (honorary arabs now)

I have decently-sized plans for the blog, now with more people, opinions, topics, and hopefully variety in post quality. Look forward to everything coming up, and check the Guides, for I shall post there next (ETA: 3 Years)

With love and a bit of autism,
Zozz
